- Introduce students into ecological principles and its applications
- College readiness and an introduction to an independent residential campus living
- Appreciate Auroville’s multicultural learning environment and its unique arts and cultural scene
- Stimulate pattern thinking among students
- Shadow work done at various service and production units in Auroville and get clarity about their career choice
WHO WILL ATTEND THE WORKSHOP
Expected participants are high-school students and recent graduates who will make a transition to college later in fall.
This program integrates hands-on learning, which is designed and based on the 3H (hands, head and heart) approach, which attempts to actualize participants’ inner strength, to activate critical system thinking and to work on students’ technical capacities of designing and implementing projects.
Students will be working on a compulsory urban agriculture project. The project will be used as an entry point to learn about technical subjects such as: Sustainable Water Management, Organic Food Production, Ecological Thinking, Renewable Energy Systems, Sustainable Waste Management, Green Architecture.
Other activities: Appreciation of the Arts & Culture of Auroville, Theater Games and Awareness Through the Body, Capoeira.

Martin Scherfler is a co-founder of Auroville Consulting. A sociologist and researcher, he has wide experience coordinating educational workshops in areas of sustainability. He is currently engaged in project management of integrated campus development and renewable energy research studies. He holds a Master degree in Sociology from Austria.
Balu is an event organizer with a main focus on organizing educational events that promote sustainable development and human well-being He holds Master in Business Administration.
Vimal is a communication specialist with a passion for photography, video production and design. He was engaged in several social responsibility projects for over 7 years developing branding and marketing communications material. He has a diploma in Fashion Technology from NIFT-TEA. He has recenlty published a book ‘Creative Expressions from Auroville’, a visually rich book of inspiring art and crafts.

Le sujet du séminaire était l'ONG Aïna qui a pour but de reconstruire la culture locale et de donner les moyens de s'exprimer aux peuples qui ont connu la guerre, afin de créer une société civile susceptible de résister à de nouvelles violences.
Le sujet du séminaire était les débats qui existent sur les grandes écoles. Depuis deux siècles, les Grandes écoles prospèrent dans le système français d'enseignement supérieur tout en étant sous le feu des critiques. La mondialisation renouvelle le débat.
Le sujet du séminaire était la mise en place d'un dispositif pour aider les lycéens issus des milieux modestes ou défavorisés à entreprendre des études supérieures ambitieuses. L'initiative fait école et une trentaine de projets de ce type ont été lancés dans d'autres Grandes écoles.
